What is Short Deck Poker? – It is a poker variant where the top card is removed from the entire deck before the action begins. Six-plus hold’em is actually a community deck poker variant of Texas hold’em, in which the second through fifth cards are all removed from the hand. The remaining cards are placed face up in the same order as the hand. Each player then is dealt two cards face up and tries to create the strongest five-card poker hand out of any combination of the six cards present. This is the same as the regular Hold ‘Em format.
How are the cards dealt – In regular Hold ‘Em, each of the six cards that are dealt straight are considered “held” by that player. They can not be accessed by other players. On the other hand, Pocket Aces are considered “high value” cards in the same way, “Low value” cards are in Hold ‘Em. A pair of Pocket Aces is worth more than any single card in the hand of a regular Hold ‘Em player. As such, it is usually worth more to raise the betting to an advantage in Pocket Aces than to raise the entire pot to an advantage. This can be a major edge in Pocket Aces Poker, particularly if the pot is very large.
What is the highest total card value in a specific betting round? In Hold ‘Em, it is the total of all the highest valued cards after the flop. This is called the “flop value.” In Pocket Aces, however, the highest total card value is still the total of all the highest valued cards after the flop, but not including any multi-card combination, just the highest cards in the entire hand.
What is the lowest number of times a particular player has been called? In Hold ‘Em and in almost every variation of poker, when a player has been called, they must stay in the game unless they check out, in which case they lose the pot and their opponent’s stack of cards. Texas Hold Em games are prone to having players stay in until there is a critical large blind or until a player raises and someone calls, then the game is over. With Pocket Aces, however, there is an additional rule: players may call after their opponents have called them, but only if their hand is better than theirs on the flop.
What is the pot size in Hold ‘Em and in short deck poker cash games? Pot size in Hold ‘Em is relative to the number of players in the table. In a two-table tournament, the pot can go up and down based on how many people have joined in, and depending on the final standings. The size of the pot in a one-table tournament will be the same as the pot in the two-table tournament and is usually determined by how many players have actually joined in, irrespective of standings. In either case, the pots in Hold em and pocket cash games are relatively small.
So what is short deck poker strategy? Texas Hold em is a fast action game, where good players win and good players lose. Good players win by throwing their highest hand and then repeating that win throughout the game, and good players win by calling and betting high (the Texas Hold em rule is that you can call for a raise once per throw, regardless of whether your hand is strong). Good players win by controlling their opponents with their strong hands and their low bets; this is why Texas Hold em is the game for studs and aggressive players.
Studs win by having the best poker strategy, controlling their opponents with superior poker skills, and using in-game tactics and call/action skills to win.
